No sense calling here. You can never be in good/dominant shape, and you can be crushed many ways against even a bad players shoving range.

Of course, you don't see such players at the NL50 hold'em tables of Party Poker, but let's say that, purely hypothetically, BB would make the all-in raise with <u>any two cards</u> . Would that warrant a call?

Now: what if BB would make this play with 50% of the hands? If he would, I think calling is correct, because on the average my equity on the hand would be about 49.5% which makes me call even taking the rake into account.

I think you have to pick your spots with this type of player. A2os, 7 4, even being aggressive on the blind, that shouldn't justify a call.

You have position on a maniac like that, so pick a hand that you have the better percentage of a coin flip, because that's all you'd be doing.

This was not a tournament, but okay... a call in this spot is not warranted, even if BB would play this way with about 40-50% of the starting hands. Point taken.

I made my remark about the 40-50% of the starting hands, because math indicated a positive EV against this range of starting hands, but maybe you're right.
