The only way I've ever seen people use odds with chess is in the final game of a tournament where a winner has to be decided over the board. In these (armageddon) games white gets 6 minutes and black gets 5 minutes. If a draw occurs, black is declared the winner.

if playing chess for money or a championship, I generally agree to a best of series (an even amount of games) this eliminates the black/white adv problem. If the score is tied then you keep adding 2 more until its untied.

One positional thing I'd like to point out: 4...Be6 blocks the e7-pawn and makes developement harder. It is not a clear mistake but you should avoid those moves unless you know what you are doing. Developement should be the key target especially if you aren't that experienced player.
