[ QUOTE ] i've never seen this kind of action/stupidity at 10/20 in Foxwoods . apparently i'm missing out. [/ QUOTE ] 10/20 there is usually a terrible game. Either play the 5/10 or the 20/40. Also, it's a good rule of thumb that the 2nd highest game anywhere is usually much tougher than the highest b/c of donator issues. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the perspective. I haven't found the 10/20 to be too difficult. I am working out some kinks in my game and then I look forward to meeting you at the 20/40. |

Ben, the 10/20 is just as good at foxwoods. It plays a little less crazy, but everybody is so obvious in that game that it's still very beatable for a lot of money

AngelFish beats it up pretty good. It's easy to know when to fold and you can still push them around a bit because many of them see MUTB. I play in it when I want to spend time with AF, since she's a bigger poker maniac than I am. One night I checked behind on the river with KJs on a K high nothing else board as I was convinced that the way the hand was played that EP guy had KQ. I was right... After I got to CA, I really missed the FW's 20 game; that is until I got to Commerce and played in the 40 game there. Except for the constant requests for setups. |

I love when a session gets off to a great start. Tonight was one such example. When I get to the casino there isn't even a 40 game going so I get to sit in my most favorite game, 20/40.
In my very first hand in my BB I get 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], CO raises, sb coldcalls, I call. Flop A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, I donk to see what happens, CO folds, SB of course now c/r me and I call. Turn 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I know where this is going, pick up a draw and don't get there. Or catch a 6, have him check to me and then have me value bet his set of 7s/better two pair for him. He bets I call. River: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Wow I actually got lucky and sucked out on someone. He bets, I raise, he 3bets, I curse the Gods and fold, he kindly shows A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] It's not that I lost the hand, I don't care about that. I just don't understand how I manage to not just miss my draws every time, but always make just enough so that I incinerate the absolute maximum money. |

Playing 30/60 and I open KK in the CO. BB is new to the table and he's the only caller.
Flop is K97r, and he bets $120. He has about $2k behind. Ethical considerations aside, what's my best course of action to get his whole stack in this limit game? Remember I have to act quickly before the dealer can straighten him out. |

Go all in?

Go all in? [/ QUOTE ] Not as far fetched as it seems seeing as the BB bet $120 on the flop in a 30/60 game. First thing I do is let him know that the maximum bet on the flop is $60. Then I raise the flop one time to make it seem like I have top pair. Then I keep raising the turn because I am in position - unless the board pairs and you suspect he may have hit his quads. After each of you has raised 3 times on the turn, you could in theory ask him if he wants to go all in because this could take too much time... Some Floors will allow this I have heard - but it is better to know in advance what your room's policy is. Thats a terrible question to ask if it is not even possible. My preference in the case that it is allowed would be to say something like "this is going to take forever" and let him suggest going all in... |

I will be in LA this weekend and looking to play some limited bet hold them. I am going to try and play some 20-40 at Commerce on Thursday night. For all you regulars, enjoy my money, but at least let me lose it slow enough that I can have a few drinks and a few laughs before returning dejected.

I think you just have to raise him one at a time extremely fast. If you can get the chips out there fast enough and the dealer either counts his raises or he flings chips fast too you have a shot. I would never suggest going all in to him but would pull a lame hollywood act if he suggested it (I don't think Bellagio will enforce this anyway so one at a time is safest).

They both agreed to put their 2 $1000 racks in on a flop of 8d 3d 2d. Ad Qd somehow held up over Td 5d. The Bellagio didn't have any problem with their request. |
