I agree TSC.

Thing is if he has another monster season they could probably get 45 million euros for him, maybe more. He has a legit shot at winning the golden ball this year, though he probably won't.

As I said in whatever summer thread, I think this season we'll find out whether Sevilla are going to be a team like Valencia, just behind the big two and every year having a real chance at winning the league, or like Deportivo de la Coruña - a team that had a couple amazing seasons and will fade with team coming back every once in a while.

Sevilla have run ridiculously well on the transfer market for young players. There are a few amazingly talented youth squad players in addition to the guys on the very good, young first team. It's not going to be easy to redo this run so becoming big club is important for the success to continue long term.

I think it'll happen if Sevilla finish top 4 in the league, get past the group stage of the CL and win at least one cup including the two supercups (Supercopa de España first leg starts mañana). On the other hand if Sevilla get bounced by AEK, get thrashed by both Real Madrid and AC Milan, and finish out of the top 4 we will probably see a selloff soon.

A lot of 3rd round qualifiers today, as I type, Pool currently up 1-0.

Adu played yesterday for Benfica.

a lot of interest so far I see....

Pool wins 1-0, yawn.

Good result for Celtic to nick a goal in a 1-1 tie in Moscow. They should lock it down at Celtic Park and ensure no one has to go to [censored] Moscow in the group stage.

Rosenborg wins 3-0 on the road. A lot of games starting soon.

excellent result for the Arsenal. Basically assured we are moving onto the group stages. Nice result. I think the result means we may bring in a few(maybe 1 or 2) players now that CL money is guaranteed. Also really good to see Hleb and Cesc scoring.

Sevilla with a 2-0 win as well. Most of the other late games are LAME.

I hope they bring atleast one more, but without David Dein the board is full of [censored] who care too much about the business part of the team. And isn't too willing to part with much £££

naw, the board is on record saying the money is there for Wenger, but he doesn't spend it. Maybe there wasn't enough for the player(s) he wanted, but now there could be. This isn't my theory anyway, saw it on Arseblog this morning.

Arsenal are in fine financial shape, have made a profit from transfers this summer alone, and the board has always made funds available for Arsene. Just because Arsene opts not to spend lots of money on transfers, which is his general style since he has been manager, does not mean that the board does not care if Arsenal does well in the league or not. David Dein leaving Arsenal does not mean Arsenal will suddenly implode, Wenger has been and is far more important than Dein.
