Surely the on demand feature on your cable box is a cheaper option even in the long run.

it doesn't make sense to me to own many dvds. do you watch more than one movie per day?

No, but I do use it pretty much every day. I like owning my DVDs for the special features mostly. But, to be honest, buying DVDs is just addictive.
