I never understood how someone can bet on something so uncertain.
Golf, Nascar, Academy Awards (although I thought that was neat how well that guy did with his picks)...It boggles my mind. |

...and yet many on these poker forums advocate pushing large stacks with a 51/49 edge, which may have lower EV than many of these sports wagers. Is any of this NOT uncertain?

Yeah, obviously something is a little off there. Looks like the best value is probably taking Toms over Harrington at even-money (or even-money minus the vig, you didn't say what the odds were on Toms). Toms is one of the favorites to win, I think, and should be a much bigger favorite over Harrington.
