[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] "Those who can, play. Those who can't, deal" [/ QUOTE ] DING! This is the right spirit. Don't get nasty, don't threaten his tokes. Make the reply funny, but pointed. Dealers sometimes say things outta line, often out of boredom or fatigue, and if you just give 'em a look or quiet response they'll instantly realize their oops. You may even get an apology. It's only if such a response to the dealer generates a nasty backlash from the dealer that it seems worthwhile to take a less friendly tone or contemplate speaking to the floor. [/ QUOTE ] and when the dealer complains to the floor, in private of course, that you said that to him then the floor will take his side and the dealer won't get the education that you hoped for. Its very simple guys, if you want to say something to the dealer its really to make yourself feel better. This is psychology 101. If you really want to make a change then you wouldn't be seeking a confrontation with the dealer. |

It's almost always better to handle problems between two people quickly, at the time it happens, and without the intervention of others. Everybody feels better when it's over. And you have a terribly cynical perspective on what the dealer will do, and what the floor will do. I'm of the view that your postulated result has no greater than a 0.5% chance of happening. Seems clear viewpoints on this topic ain't gonna merge into a consensus. I believe in letting folks handle their own oopses and I'm going to give 'em every chance to do that when the oops isn't egregious. |

Wow. A snide comment from a dealer does not deserve a 75 post deliberation over appropriate retaliatory tactics. I think the proper response is to simply grow thicker skin and move on.

The appropriate type of response:
"One player per hand, sir." |

I'm surprised so many think it's no big deal for a dealer to comment on your play.
I would be tempted to tell him to STFU. And I would quit tipping him at least for a while. |
