Kirk,
I included that description to emphasize how "lucky" and "fortunate" I was to get a chance to invest in this fund. HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA As I stated above, I actually have a very small investment in the fund, so it's not a big deal at all really. Just hilarious because it's a fund that tons of people would love to invest in and everyone thinks it's surefire $$$$$$. I got a chance to put some money in due to some business connections, wow, how lucky. |

Hitting up another wine dinner tonight at A Bellagio in Campbell:
First Course: Vovlovant Di Verdure Alla Bellagina (Flaky phyllo dough filled with spears of fresh vegetables served with Evans' secret sauce). Pair wine: Pinot Gris 2005 Tangent Second Course: Ostriche Gratinate Al Forno (Blue point oyster presented on a bed of fresh greens with a gratin finish). Pair wine: Pinot Gris 2005 Tangent Third Course: Crespelle Agli Asparagi Vellutati (Freshly prepared crepes filled with organic asparagus and fontina cheese served with bechamel sauce, drizzled with truffle olive oil), Pasta Casereccia Al Pesto Genovese (Traditional homemade pasta served with authentic Italian pesto). Pair wine: Pinot Noir 2005 Baileyana Fourth Course: Zuppeta Di Pesce Alla Erbe (A combination of the freshest market seafood in the chef's special reduction of tomatoes and fresh herbs). Pair wine: Ecclestone 2005 Tangent Fifth Course: Filetto Alla Voronof Con Riso All'Curry (Cubed cuts of Angus Filet Mignon marinated in a red wine mustard with Varonaf sauce, paired with curried rice). Pair Wine: Syrah 2004 Baileyana Sixth Course: Dolce Del Estate (Authentic Austrian "Schwarzenegger Strudel"). Pair Wine: Port Baileyana --- These dinners will eventually kill me, but I am powerless to resist them. |

[/ QUOTE ] The deal with PE is insane in China at this moment as I have observed from business deals that I've heard that's going on around (either in the company or family or family friends negotiating). Supposedly there is no way to buy shares of any companies that are IPO-ing from PE in 2008 because the lists are already filled and you'd have to look for anything beyond, and you'd still get minimal shares. Amazing phenomenon. Interested in coming to invest? On the otherhand, what do you think of the recent Blackstone going public idea? |

[/ QUOTE ] Blackstone found the right time to cash out as distressed debt markets are about to make PE buyouts much more difficult. I think the big time LBO firms are going to really suffer over the next year or two. |

All,
I find it sorta strange that there's a front page CNN.com profile of the handful of people who died in the bridge collapse. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/08/03/bri...ims/index.html Also, pretty hard core: http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/Movi....ap/index.html Dude mauled to death at Ving Rhames' house! |
