gila,

The good news is that he never failed a test

Yea, true, and I too hope he is not doping. The thing is, Basso never failed a drug test either, nor did Ulrich. Or Botero, Beloki, Riis, Festina ... and on, and on. Or Lance?. It is just so hard to trust these guys these days. It seems that most, or at least a good number, don't fail any tests. But, as proven by Puerto, that doesn't mean they are/weren't doping.

I am just so sick of the accusations, followed by the denials, followed by more accusations, more denials "I am feeling CALM('s)", followed by more accusations, and finally half-assed confessions. Just hard to tell who to believe, did Landis dope of didn't he? Did Basso? Apparently he "was going to"? WTF. Ulrich? Armstrong? Are these riders that are winning races not doping? Or simply not getting caught? Is it the luck of the draw?

Don't get me wrong, I love cycling. I just want to be able to watch a race, see a heroic effort, and not have doubts, or be disappointed later when it all falls apart (see Floyd, and Basso, in particular).

I would first of all, wish that they were not doping, but as I said earlier, in the absence of that, I would rather it just be the case that they don't get caught. As stupid as that sounds, at least we could live in la la land and pretend they aren't doping.
