I honestly think a woman would do more than anything to repop the poker boom. While a small percentage of poker players are women, it would get more women playing. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Raymer, Hachem, and Gold had no real impact. Moneymaker himself was only a focal point of the media. It was the combination of his story, televised poker, and internet poker which got the boom going. |

If they chopped right now, 526K each or the equivalent of 9th place.
At some point, there will be talk of a chop this year, IMO. Last 36 maybe? |

[/ QUOTE ] No way they get all current remaining players to agree to a chop. Agreed that once it gets down farther (probably 25 or less) the idea may be floated. |

I joined a hand in progress with nearly a million already in the pot and a 750K bet from Avi Cohen placed in front of him. The board showed 9-9-8-8-J. After about two minutes of thought Markus Gonsalves moved all in. He had Cohen covered. "Wow," said Cohen as he heard Gonsalves. "Quads again," he asked referring to a hand they had played earlier today where Markus had quads when Avi had a flush. Avi folds and Markus mucks his hand and says "two pair was good right?" Avi stood up, frustrated, and told his neighbors he had folded an 8. Markus went to the rail to talk to his friends and girlfriend and Avi followed hoping to find out what he had. Once Cohen left, Markus told his friends that he had nothing... just an ace. His friends didn't believe him but he swore that was what he had. "It was so obvious he had an 8," he told them. I asked him why he didn't show the bluff because it would have been sure to set Cohen off and Markus joked "I don't want him to kill himself."
