I bet-fold unless i think he's ballsy enough to shove-bluff the river, then I probably count out a bet, give a frustrated check and then call his bet.

I like check/call too. I think his bet size tells you what he has on the river. If you make a blocking type bet and he raises what then? Is he raising with a flush, or is he just playing back at you?

you check/raise the turn on a QJhh board and now he's going to play back at you on a 7h river? that doesn't seem very likely...
