bob the key here is if the adults were weak tight and order dollar fifty ice teas, and had 5 kids hitting up the childs menu, thats not gonna engender a higher level of service, if the adults spent money on good wine, multiple rounds of alcoholic cocktails so the restuarant might actually eek out a profit i have a feeling the happy birthday request would of had a better shot of being accommodated.

signal prove me wrong by telling me you each ordered 3 or 4 rounds, but i highly doubt thats the case.

roaahhh - I disagree.
Lots of places like this that serve alcohol don't exactly serve tons and tons of it but they still make a profit don't they?

Lots of people go in there and get their $10 meal with an iced-tea and that should be just fine.

I really don't think they should feel obligated to get all liquored up in front of the 6-year-old just to ensure that the restaurant will be profitable and will feel better about singing Happy B-Day.

like a fking 6 year old has any chance of comprehending what a liqoured up adult means, you are just a giant who caters to them and asks what they want, and do these lots of people with $10 meals ask to have birthday cupcakes delivered? and on top of that what were they waiting for birthday flan?? this is piss poor by the parents on all streets.

I only have alcohol with my meal maybe about 20% of the times that I dine out whether it be in a large group or just with my GF or just by myself.

I had no idea that there was some hidden rule that you had to order X amount of drinks for the restaurant to sing Happy B-Day to you.

Good to know. Thanks for the info and for your attitude.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to do this, unless the waiter is some angry douche or is having a slow night and is reliant on higher tabs at each table. I'd think most of the time their mind would be focused on getting the job done, not whether MicroBob is going to have another strawberry daquiri to pad his tip.
