Seattle, WA
![]() $490,000, 3 bed 1 bath, single family home. 1570 sq. ft, built in 1954. ![]() $459,950, 4 bed 3 bath 2130 sq. ft. built in 1928 Hmm, that last one is in a pretty decent area and it's reasonably priced. Anyway, a decent house in the city of Seattle (and not Shoreline or some other [censored] suburb) will cost you $350,000 - $600,000. When I lived in Cleveland you could get a really nice house for $200,000. But then you have to live in Cleveland, I guess. |

I'm pretty sure you can buy plenty of beach side houses in either Aruba or Domincan for under 500K

i didn't think we were getting screwed quite as hard as we are in vancouver until i read this thread. this is $560 cdn and in a mediocre area about 40 minutes from downtown:
if you want in the city, this is $510 in strathcona (near downtown, crappy neighborhood): or this condo for $590 in mt pleasant (nice neighborhood, near downtown):

So I'm guessing a lot of people have interest-only mortgages right?
