From Rumor Central
Wolves Eye Marbury Apr 21 - Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said he'd be intrigued by trading for Stephon Marbury if it didn't mean a big financial hit to the 'Wolves' future payroll, reports the New York Post. According to the newspaper, Taylor told 'Wolves writers, "It would be one of those things where New York would have to say that they really want to get rid of the player and could help us in some financial way to do it."Isiah Thomas is committed to trading Marbury. |

If Knicks agreed to pay a certain portion of Marbury's contract, would that part of the contract still be calculated against the Knicks for salary cap purposes?

This is what I referenced (accidentally as GM) last week. But there is no chance of a deal.
The most the Knicks could pay the Wolves would be 3 million, but they still would have to take back all of the Wolves terrible troy hudsonesque contracts in return. Making it almost a 3-1 deal which the Knicks could never do because of the roster spot situation. |

I just heard the knicks are looking to pick up kenyon martin and zo.
This is a perfect deal for the Knicks. Kenyon Martin is coming off an injury that has limited his effectiveness AND supposedly has a bad attitude. In other words, he fits in really well with what they are trying to achieve. Best of all, he also has a huge contract and would be pretty much untradeable. I think if they packaged their 2008 and 2009 #1's, non lottery-protected of course, they might be able to pick him up. |

They are the biggest embarassment to professional sports in the entire world, without a doubt. They have handed over a shitton of max contracts to aging players who don't have a shot of being any good, without any regard for "team chemistry," if you believe in that sort of thing (which I do somewhat for an NBA team). It's just embarassing that a team has the highest payroll in the league and they're not even close to being a winning team. |

adding kmart would be a great addition. after that maybe finally get darius miles, zach randolph, and a couple other convicts. bloat that payroll larger than the EU's GDP and i think we're good to go.
