Unilingual anglophones will, at first, be at a distinct disadvantage vis-a-vis their Francophone counterparts ... in the early going, it would be easy to tell if an Anglo were holding one or more court cards by the way they needed to squint extra carefully to confirm their holding.

Like the first three hands?

I am interested to see how they handle the language at the table issue. I think it will have to allow English and French. French will definitely be allowed, and I can't see them saying no-English.

I have officially spoken with the Casino's Front desk and the official word is it will be on December 18th, not the 15th. The Electronic tables will be available that day. The Dealers are still in a fight with the union because they are having problems with money but are hoping they can come to a conclusion before december 18th. The dealers want more money than the union is offering them.

Thanks for the update.

A couple questions. The dealers are fighting with the union, not the employer? Can you elaborate.

Also, if the dealers can reach an agreement, will they be ready to open live tables on the 18? In other words, does the Casino have the tables and are the dealers trained and ready to go on the 18th?

Thanks.

This is great news. I'm just wondering why there hasn't been any big promos about it. No real press release, the lac leamy site doesn't even state anything new. Weird? I think it is.

Can't wait to start playing there on a regular basis.

As someone planning on making his first trip to Montreal within the next 3 months I was really excited to hear this news.

I would hate to have to play on electronic tables so hopefully the $$$ issue between union and casino are worked out by then.

I sent an email (before I found this thread, teach me to not check 2+2 first) to the casino and am waiting to find out what they are planning on spreading and how many tables etc they are anticipating.

Also if it is french only, I expect to see a lot of Umberto Brenes thumbs up'ing and arm gestures (just without sharks), any bilingual folks feeling up to training us anglos how to navigate a poker table en francais?

Is this for Montreal, or Lac Leamy (or both)?
