Default Re: Well, Florida, how did the first day of NL/$5limit games treat you

Met a friend at HR Hollywood at 4 this afternoon and we put our names on the 2/5NL list. Wait was only about 15 mins, which was good since I had not eaten anything all day. Bad news was the food at HR SUX. Chinese fast food with Heinz yellow mustard....no chinese spicy mustard...but I digress.

We play for about 2 hours...plenty of loose players, probably 3 solid players at our full table. At around 6:30, they tell us that our table must be broken for the multi-table tourney. They don't move us to a new table, they just put us on the "list", which was about 45 mins long. They must figure a better way to handle the switch to their tourneys. I cashed out up $230 and headed home.

The good news is that "headed home" takes me right past the Coconut Creek Seminole Casino. I had never been there, but I figured I might as well check out their poker room. I walked around the casino for about 15 minutes (idiot) before figuring out that the poker room was upstairs. Sat right down in a 2/5 NL game and noticed that there were many fewer donks at CC than at HR.

There was a 5/10NL game where one guy had well over 15K.
Big set over set pot I watched there.

I left at midnight, a nice 8 hr poker afternoon up $400. One guy at our table had over $2000 in front of him when I left...nice job at 2/5. Looking forward to many more evenings of FL poker.
