Bodog didn't lend him a dime. He deposited $100 of his own money into their site.

BODOG in an attempt to get him tot he tables as fast as possible assumed the transaction was valid and gave him his $100 without receiving it first.

Why are they allowed to make mistakes and profit $500 from it and the OP not allowed to make any? OP is the customer.

I think too many posters ont hese boards have become so soured by all the "online pok3r is so riggzzzed" monkeys out there they assume every poster with a complaint is a moron and that online poker rooms are blameless.

I have never had a single bad experience with a poker room, in fact I've had only good ones, however it's stupid to dismiss every single person with a greivance against a site.

I think part of it is the fear we will create a climate of "everyone complaining about everything" and I don't want that either, but let's just approach each situation objectively.

Why don't people use Neteller? sigh.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why do people keep suggesting this? Not everyone can use Neteller.

For example, the don't accept customers from Maryland, which means I can't use them. I hate when people give this response like it is the most obvious thing in the world.

Your (and many of the other posters' on this subject) logic is flawed.

Bodog may not have stolen anything from OP, but I strongly doubt they returned the $400 he "won" (or any part of their rake) to the parties that lost them.

Or maybe you are all sure that they donated the money to some charity we all support?

I scanned the rest of it, its funny though from the caps in the title and number of exclamation points you can usually guesstimate how many posts they have.

If I'm not mistaken, all bank account #s in the US are 11 digits. If you try to enter 10, there should be some kind of pop-up window telling you that you entered an incorrect number of digits, similar to what happens when you enter 15 digits of a credit card somewhere. This would lead me to believe that OP is lying or Bodog's programmers suck.

Edit: Bodog's programmers do in fact suck, so this would make me tend to belive OP. Does anyone else think that if he's telling the truth, this should never have happened.

Also, I'm not entirely sure about all accounts being 11 digits.

The 11 digit thing is false. I know I have a Chase account that is 12 digits.

And the credit card number thing is wrong too... Amex cards are all 15 digits.

That's a seperate issue really. Of course they should return the money to the players. But that has nothing to do with the need for the policy. I do agree with those saying you simply shouldn't be allowed to play until the money clears. Not exactly customer friendly but certainly avoids situations like this.

But seriously...who does an online bank transfer without carefully checking the acct#'s? That's pretty stupid IMO.

Bwana,

That is exactly my point. I would have gladly waited the 4 days and received either confirmation from my bank or a no-go from Bo-Dog.

I just signed up on Poker Stars and I am waiting until my bank account shows the withdrawl as I cannot handle winning again and having the funds stolen back. Although I do not think Poker Stars would ever do such a thing as a friend of mine received an email from PS informing him that they were giving him additional funds for a Sit And Go that he finished third in. Turns out the two players who finished one and two were in colusion so PS gave my friend the winnings from that one Sit and Go tournament.

Which leads to another point with Bodog. If bodog took my winnings back, wouldnt it make sense that they should refund the money to the players who I won the money from?

No, your post is total bull [censored]. If someone was to scam bodog you would be damn sure they would try to get the money back. But if the mistake was on the players side they have the right to take the money and the player has no chance? They should simply withdraw 100$ from the correct account and it should be settled. Honestly, the way this worked out I hope that many people make fake accounts, deposit money fradulently and then dump it. Perhaps bodog should reconsider how they handle deposits if there is such a large area for exploitation.
