If I had to list movies that I like because I think they were different from everything else I'd pick movies like 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', 'Brazil', 'Adaptation', 'Memento' and 'Requiem for a Dream' as examples.

I considered editing my reply because you're right, that is a strong list and Mr. Brooks doesn't really belong with them but it was the only way I could think of to convey the experience I had. The movie gets going, you don't know what to expect and the next thing your thinking is 'Wow, what's this?' and you can't wait to see what happens next while you enjoy everybody's performance.

So, no, it's not that good but it's pretty darn good, imo.

The movie gets going, you don't know what to expect and the next thing your thinking is 'Wow, what's this?' and you can't wait to see what happens next while you enjoy everybody's performance.

This is a good way to describe how I felt about "Brick".

Brick was a damn fine film.
