A suggestion to Justin:-
I haven't read all the replies here and if this has been brought up before then I'm sorry. Why don't you make the hand histories from your tournaments available. Entering multiple accounts is against the rules and so you are in the wrong. However, I think it would make a difference in some people's eyes if it could be shown that you did not "collude" or chip-dump when your accounts were sat at the same table. I am not volunteering to go through the hands but some people here seem to have a lot invested in this. Even the act of making them available would back up your claim that you did not engage in these practices. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] How the heck did this happen. A new post that I could delete and it's got 300 responses before I notice? Hell- this one has 3 times the posts. It wins. [/ QUOTE ] It was moved here by the MTT Moms [/ QUOTE ] It's obvious the MTT Moms don't know what they are doing or else they would have added the ***'s to the title. How can it be an "official" thread with the ***'s? Nolanfan would have never allowed this to happen. [/ QUOTE ] To be fair, the topic was something worse, and then I changed it to what it is now. So the lack of *** is my fault. I am a bad person who does bad things. |

Mike,
Sounds like a nice idea. Unfortunately, how would you ever know he wasn't using selection bias in which handhistories he presents as evidence? The guy cheated. I have no sympathy for him, and there isn't any prospect my ever trusting him concerning anything related to poker. I'd always be asking myself. Where's the hook? |

[ QUOTE ]
100K is 100K and its a lot of $$ no matter who you are. You cannot base punishments on how badly someone will be hurt finacially. Let's do what's right and come up with a good proposal to send to the sites. We must do what's right here. [/ QUOTE ] Well seeing as this thread is still alive and kicking I might as well add to it... (For the record I am over 30 and am not some kneejerk reactionary young person) I don't think the party punishment is too harsh - I'd say it didn't go far enough. ZJ was caught cheating - and IMHO should have to pay back all the $ earned from PP unless he can prove that it was earned honestly. given the present state of affairs I think a lifetime ban from ALL online pokersites - in the same way that if you get caught cheating at 1 casino - you get banned from all is in order. ZJ is young and foolish - but is also intelligent emough to know what the TOS are at PP and to know that what he was doing was wrong. To my knowledge to date he has given no real apology - has not admitted that he knows what he did was wrong - and seems to only regret what has happened because he got caught. IF: a) he apologises properly b) offers to make some repartions - giving free coaching/sponsoring a big money freeroll from his own bankroll/or something that will cost him a lot in the time and money dept c) is actually honest about when/where and how he cheated with PP and PS (and any others) and voluntarily turns over funds that were illicitly gained d) outs a decent number of other cheaters who are still at it. THEN I can see a way back for ZJ to play at PP or PS in the future - after a 1yr ban or something like that. I suspect he has no intention of doing anything at all like this - and is probably already back playing at PP/PS with new IP addresses/computers - new multi accounts - and has learned little from all of this experience - other than to keep his mouth shut. |

OK.
Me. Granted I tend to range a little bit from year to year as a free lance software developer, but that figure is around my average. And my ethics haven't had to suffer at all. I'm sorry that you believe the only way to get ahead is by screwing other people, but it just is not true. |

I'm not to sure if anyone else mentioned it but don't you think its a bit unethical for party to take the money? I mean the least they could do is to distribute it back to the people in the tournament, I don't know just my 2 cents.

[ QUOTE ] FWIW, as someone who tokes $1 a hand, 75 cents is with the blind hope that a dealer who notes that I toke will someday give me a heads up on cheaters, and 25 cents is because I'm a nice guy and I like the dealer. [/ QUOTE ] For the most part this wont happen. Maybe a "watch those two". Why? Because I will quietly go to the shift mgr (except with card marking suckers whom I will gladly expose to all) tell him whats going on so they can put a camera directly on those involved. [/ QUOTE ] That works for me too! |
