One of these Florida outfits is going to have to offer a tourney with ONE HOURS intervals in their structures AND offer a 10% max rake before they can even be considered semi bigtime.
Players CANNOT be lured into the thinking that starting a tourney with a deeper stack is that much a positive, because it is not! The STRUCTURE of the tourneys, as well as the RAKE, are much, much, much more important than the starting chip count. By the way, FLORIDA already has a 1-2 NO LIMIT game and it is very easy to access. The casino boat at Treasure Island offers the game twice weekly with games on the Saturday morning cruise and the Wednesday night cruise. The rake is $5 and for $1 extra they offer a bad beat jackpot AND a high hand of the week involving all holdem games for the week. On other days they spread limit and 2-5 NO LIMIT games. Below is their schedule.......... MON-X TUE-X WED AM- 2-10-20 7 Card stud WED PM- 1-2 NO LIMIT THUR AM- 5-10 LIMIT THUR PM- 5-10 LIMIT FRI PM- 10-20 LIMIT SAT AM- 1-2 NO LIMIT SAT PM- 2-5 NO LIMIT SUN AM- 2-5 NO LIMIT All poker players recieve a comped meal at the end of the cruise. All DRINKS are comped during play. Call to reserve a seat, as seating is limited(only ONE table). 727-226-0171 The room is totally smoke free also. All in all, it's really is not that bad. I would rate the play level at 4.3 The very best way to get there(and fastest) is to take Gandy/Park Blvd west until you hit Seminole Blvd and then hang a left. About two miles down you will see a fork in the road for Mediera Beach or St. Pete.......take the Mediera beach road and this will take you to Gulf Blvd.......hand a left and Treasure Island is about two miles down the road. One can park in the garage right next to the boat. From DERBY LANE, one can be at Treasure Island in less than 30 minutes taking this route. The boat sails from 11-4 and 7-12. -FH- |

$10 on your initial cruise which is reimbursed to you if you sign up for slot card. After that, just present your slot card when boarding and boarding is free.

I want to know who the management is going to be at Tampa Bay Downs this year. I lived about 5 minutes from there in 2004, and management that year were such a bunch of pricks that we drove 30 minutes to Derby and Hard Rock instead.
So the claims of their shill are dubious. But I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if there's been a turnover. |

And, for the record, and so that the rest of you shills that are monitoring this thread know, the players WILL gravitate to that cardroom that first goes off of (or lowers) the time charge on the NL game. You take enough money from us already.
We are in all of your cardrooms, and we talk to everyone. |

It has been my experience that the managers/supervisors at all the tracks are somewhat non human relations minded. I play regularly with an employee of the TB DOWNS track and will ask if they have made changes. I have only played there once myself.

I'm glad there will be no limit games now, but 12 dollars an hour sounds very expensive for a 1/2 game.
