1. Learn to fold
2. Learn to C/R
3. Learn to bluff

This should help my bankroll significantly

Nice thread - good to clarify these kind of things in the mind.

1. Post 2 hands per week, comment on 5.
2. Use this newfound expertise to move up to 2/4.
3. Consolidate at 2/4 and beat Absolute 2/4 for 1BB/100 over 20K hands.

My main goal is to move up.
I've been 4 tabling 1/2 since May and have continued b/c it's an easy way to make a few extra bucks, unfortunately spent most of 6K I made from playing and from bonuses. But managed recently to put together a $1700 bankroll that I will keep exclusively online and will try to build and move up with. No specific goals but basically want to move up and get to at 10/20 by the end of the year, will maintain at least a 300BB at the current limit I play, and take mini-shots (which I think Grunchcan described) with 100BB rolls at higher limit and at 6 max. That way I should never fall below my original $1700 and should be able to move up and play without fear of losing too much $$$.

So I'm going to just jump in playing 2/4 and 1/2 6 max the next couple months, dropping back to 1/2 if I drop near $1200.

had a good 2005.

for 2006:

I want to be playing 5/10 full time, and taking shots at 10/20.
I want to play more live poker.
Continue to contribute to 2+2.
Make 20K, maybe more, but at least 20K.
Pay my taxes for 2005.
Continue to work on not tilting.
Look into getting a coach.

I was looking back at a march 2005 goals thread I posted in, and I have met or exceeded all of them. I wanted to be comfortable at 1/2, comfortable at 6-max, and prove a solid winrate over a good sized sample. Done, done, and done.

So time for some new goals:

1: My current home/sweet spot is 1/2 and 2/4 6max. 6-max is definately the way to go, I doubt I'll EVER go back to full 10 handed ring games. Over the next year, I want to prove myself at 3/6 and 5/10 6-max games. I'm already taking shots at it, but I'm still subconsciously thinking in terms of dollars and not chips. It's the same every time you jump up a level, you need a while to adjust.

2: Since I am playing a little 3/6 and 5/10 here and there, I want to read and contribute to the SS forum more. Right now I just lurk, and I feel everyone there is kinda out of my league, so it makes me apprehensive about posting.. I don't wanna look like a fool, or give bad advice to the 'high rollers' in the SSHE forum.. I need to make the jump, it feels like I'm about to jump up limits.

3: Have the discipline to get up and leave a table if there's a bunch of TAG's playing there. I always think 'Im TAG too, worst case this should be an even game', etc.. When this happens and I stay, sometimes I win, sometimes I lose.. I get great satisfaction out of beating good players, but every time I lose, I kick myself for not leaving sooner. At the higher limits, this is gonna matter more than ever, so I need to really be aware of my enviroment, and make sure I put myself in the best possible situation.

1. post more. i've been playing since august (from .25/.50 to 40K hands so far at 1/2), and have been reading since then, but didn't start contributing til recently.

2. stop tilt-spewing and too-many-tables-spewing. both are killing my winrate.

3. know odds like the back of my hand.

4. up my aggression. i can push with the nuts just fine, but i need to stop fearing scary boards and others having the nuts when so often that is not the case.

5. continue to add position-dependent hands to my repertoire.

6. move up to and get comfortable with 3/6 full and start in on the 6-max game.

7. get better at games besides holdem (omaha is first on the list).

8. earmark some BR for a flat panel or two. purty...

happy new year everyone

2005 was a g00t year for the Dog. Pulled out a big chunk of the roll and had a great trip to Vegas. I proposed, she said yes, can't beat that.

I still lurk here, as I'll play the occasional full table clearing bonuses, and when I hit a rough stretch of variance in the SH game. I'd like to be playing 10/20 short by this time next year, but for the freaking life of me I can't handle more than 2 6M tables at a time. Ugh.

Good luck to you all, and if you see me at a full table, I'll be on your right.
