whoaaaaa......wait a minute. A thread where folding a set on the flop is o.k.???!!! What has ssnl come to?
this is easiest call ever. sb has AA button has 99 obv. jeeeesh. what's everyone afraid of? sets are rare and we have one so the chance of them having one is even rarer. like 1,013,447 to 1 to be exact. |

I say fold, but I know I probably don't have the balls to do it at the table. [/ QUOTE ] i never fist pump, but trust my judgement when i say the best feeling in poker is making laydowns that ARE correct and 95% of people dont make when you think about it mathematically, its pretty damn similar to stacking a donk |

btw, the key thing here is the SB. the button could have a decently wide range, but for a 17/tight/passive'er than most to shove over a bet and a raise, hero has to basically be praying that sb has exactly 54/99.
people that are tight, that see zero fold equity and shove, have a REALLY STRONG HAND. i think he's folding a combo draw and high diamonds, so his exact hand range crushes bottom set the majority of the time. people need to stop being stupid about poker and realize situations and actually THINK LIKE POKER PLAYERS not to hate on people, but ffs. think like a poker player. try and think like a passive nit and ask yourself what you're shoving on that board over a continuation bet and a smallish checkraise. when you can be honest with yourself and make that fold, which is good long run, you can see your ptbb/100 go up. making folds where other people say dumb things like "LOL YOU HAVE _______ NEVER FOLD" allow you to make more than that player, and all the other players commiserate over alcohol and say "nothing you coulda done, man" |

edited, i misread the board texture
854 is actually an even easier fold than 874 , as 54 is less credible in the range of sb |

Yeah, if we have any significant amount of hands on the 17/7/.93 guy this seems absurdly easy to fold. After timing out and whining for awhile of course

this is a ridiculously easy fold and anyone here that says call is a bad, tagfish player [/ QUOTE ] Clayton, quit being retarded. In no way could this hand ever be considered a "ridiculously easy fold." If you want to argue it's a fold, then fine, but I disagree (mainly because all we know about this guy are three little numbers with no sample size that, for me, don't mean he's so good and solid that he can ONLY have the few hands that beat you). ugh, big laydown threads sucks. |

This is probably a decent laydown at 400NL (vs. this type of player), but not here. I see guys with 17% preflop stats call out of the blinds with suited connectors and suited aces ALL THE TIME, so I have no [censored] clue why everyone says he folds them. And I gaurantee he isn't just CALLING with those hands, no matter how nitty he is, when the action gets back to him. |
