this kinda makes my shake my head in confusion too. but I fold.

I see you losing or splitting if hes bad. i mean, can he EVER be bluffing? sure doesn't seem like he ever gets here with a worse hand that value pushes. cant see him ever not betting a lone 8 on this river (if he even gets there with an 8 given the action) JJ /66/88 are all possibilites.
