[ QUOTE ]
You know, the Mets may actually have a chance to win this game. I have a strong feeling the Mets will string all 3 of their bloop singles vs Willis to score 1 run. If John Maine can hold Willis to just 1 homerun and shutout the rest of the team we can win 2-1 in 10, When D Wright homers and extends his hit streak, boo ya. [/ QUOTE ] Except it will take a bloop single and 2 errors, but your on the money. I think the most difficult part of this scenario is keeping Willis to 1 homerun. But, the strangest thing about us joking about this is there is a good chance that Willis shut outs the Mets and hits a homerun, that is what is so sick about this. Mets shoulda just traded for him so they didn't have to face him. Milledge, Pelfrey, and Humber for Willis. |

Mets bomb the ace, then get shut down by the rook tomorrow. SOP the last few years.

I heard that. They ask Willie who his favorite Met was growing up and Willie says "Ken Boswell". Big fatso says oh so authoritatively "couldn't field a lick but he sure could hit". LOLZA. Ken Boswell couldn't hit his way out of a lunchbag. The guy hit .211 in '72 for Christ's sake.

This is niether here nor there, but I thought that SNY did a really good job with the broadcast of last night's game in Philly. I thought the banter from the booth was particularly enjoyable, and the analysis was pretty good, too. They did a nice job of showing relevant replays (such as baserunners reacting to developments in the outfield), even when the commentators were talking about something else.
There was also an excellent clubhouse interview with Tom Glavine. No clichés or questions about "how he feels," just good, nuts & bolts stuff about which pitches were hard to throw in the blustery cold and why, and pitch selection over multiple trips through the lineup. (Incidentally, Glavine has his head on straight and is a pleasure to have on the team.) All in all, it was a Mets game that gave me the warm fuzzies inside. Hope they keep it going tonight. . . |

Good start. Hopefully Maine can get something going here too.

"It's not like LoDuca is a slow runner."
Edit: bleh, just realized you guys are probably mostly watching SNY. MLB.tv has the Florida FoxSports feed. |
