So...

I have been trading points for cash and getting the 'cash value' the an 80 gig ipod instead of actually getting something from the store. Now they have 23 inch HDTD (wtf? tiny!), a Breitling watch, a digital camera, etc.

I still think the cash value option is better, however there is something more exciting about getting a free watch/tv/camera from a site than getting money, even if I could turn around and get more camera/watch/tv for the price.

So am I retarded to want to take the item instead of the money??

GM, could you buy the TV for less than the cash equivalent number of points? If it's the same, that's great. But it's better for me to get the cash except when I do it goes straight to savings rather than my wrist or wall.

The TV on amazon goes for about 3k (I havent really looked around to see if its cheaper elsewhere though).

I talked to the Star's VIP people and they offered it to me for 177k FPPs. Ive heard about 60k FPPs = 1k cash equivalent so overall its a pretty fair deal for me ( if Im right about all this).
