[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] what's the plan for Lester when they call him back up? [/ QUOTE ] I would guess Taveras goes back to pen and one of the relievers gets released. But if Taveras is pitching like he did at the end of last year and Wakefield is his usual inconsistent self I'd bump him out of the rotation. [/ QUOTE ] wakefield is his usual inconsistent self? Wakefield is the only starter we have where we pretty much know what to expect. He'll give you about a 1.35 WHIP, 180 IP, an ERA in the high 4s, and however many wins that's good for on this team (probably 10-12). Even when he was hurt last year that's what he gave us, minus 40 IP. Which reliever is going to get released? Maybe if Romero or Snyder really [censored] the bed they'll get released outright, but much more likely they'll get traded or sent down. Regardless, the point is probably moot because it's foolish to count on Lester for any major league starts this year. He'll have to come back and tear up Pawtucket to even see time, or someone will have to be hurt. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Hansack or Gabbard before Lester even if he's healthy. The FO / Tito have made the mistake of bringing up a lot of guys before they were ready (also partially due to injuries), and all indications are they're going to be much more careful this year. If Lester comes up and gets knocked around you guys will probably start pestering the FO to trade him for a backup catcher or something. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't believe any of the relievers, maybe one, have options to be sent down. On Wake, yeah he's consistent in his inconsistency. On Lester, you're probably right, but it's a moot point for a while as I believe he's on the 60 day DL. And no, I'm not one to favor trading pitching for backup catchers(I was and still am against the Arroyo trade). |

[/ QUOTE ] Guys, guys, calm down. It's not baseball until it gets hot. The hitters will struggle until then, but you know that and you're just being typical Red Sox fans. |

Where the hell is the offense? [/ QUOTE ] I haven't been able to watch any games today, but yea, where is that Sox offense? And what about Drew, when's he going to show some power? And I don't think Beckett's ever going to get it together. Oh, yea, what happened in today's game? |
