Not quite ready for a six month update (the little girl is 5+ months now), but I just wanted to relate a good deal to the other new parents here.

On Friday, I purchased the following on eBay:

Baby Einstein 22 DVD box set + Baby's First Signs DVD
Baby Einstein wrist books
Baby Einstein touch and feel animal cards (something like that)

All that plus shipping was $118. That's < $5 per item, and those DVDs typically go for $15-$20, I believe.

The seller's eBay name is "ferfer" and she (I think it's a she) got them to me by Monday. Looks like she doesn't have the box set listed right now, but she told me she can get pretty much anything from Baby Einstein, so I can just e-mail her if I want something. I would assume that anyone could message her on eBay with an inquiry.

My wife is really excited about the baby signs DVD, while I am looking forward to a little "Neglecto-matic" to give myself 30 minutes to do some work, since I work at home. Yay daddy day care!

I have been coming back to this thread since December - I've learned so much from all of you. My wife is pregnant with twins due on August 5th (boy/girl). Tonight we had our first "magnificent multiples" prenatal class at the women's hospial. Wow. Everything became a bit more real tonight!

dcasper is on the ball. Today is youngblood's six month birthday and I have received a PM for his update.

I'm pleased to report he is doing fine. He's happy and healthy and growing like a weed.

One nice thing is his sister has now accepted him. It was touch and go for a while until she was satisfied that she'd still be receiving her MDAR (minimum daily attention requirement).

He does need his attention though. Mom is a full-time stay at home type; if he's not being held he's crying to be held. Hope that means he'll be well-grounded and stable when he grows up. He should know he's never neglected. I wonder how he'd react if there wasn't somebody to cuddle him constantly.

Poor guy is in misery over his impending teeth. He's a redhead; I've heard they have a hard time teething. Drool all the time and lots of moaning. I refuse to give a baby Tylenol (don't even know why they make an infant version) but we have the go-ahead from the doc to give him all the ibuprofen he can take.

He's just back from Easter weekend charming all his L.A. relatives. He's a great car-tripper.

One thing I've noted: his sister never spit up, but was prone to diaper rash. He is a serious spitter-upper, but never gets diaper rash.

His sister was subtle in her attention bids. Fake coughs and such. She is still devious and clever. He is not subtle at all, as I've mentioned. If he wants something, he ain't shy about yelling for it.

He can now sleep ten hours straight! Yea!!!11one!

I'm at work so no pics at this time, sorry.

Thanks, dcasper!

My wife gave birth to Jonah (our first child) on April 27th. He is 8 lbs 3 oz and is 21 inches long. I'll hopefully be sharing pictures soon.

After experiencing the gift of childbirth I can't wait to go back and reread this thread. Congratulations to all the dad's, it truly is amazing.

...and I'm truly saddened by the loss of the baby that passed away. My prayers and thoughts are with the parents.
