Last night on one of my waiting list tables I witnessed a player playing professor to a n00b.

When I got my seat they were still in mid-convo.

I said "Hey, whats going on here?" "is there a lesson going on?"

"What are we up to?"

They both lol'd but, the lesson stopped.

In no particular order...

'Pass the sugar!'

'He's digging the hole, he's putting the branches and twigs over it...'

'I call your 20 and raise...'

Boom! when they hit their draw on the river.

Any use of "donk" at the table other than referring to donk bets.

Also saw someone stand up and spit on the dealer when his aces got rivered... not exactly saying anything but it still came out of his mouth.

Yeah, I hate this. Once in the $3 rebuy the guy to my right kept saying "BOOM CLAP SNAP!" every time he runner-runnered or rivered, which was a lot. It was great when he bustoed shortly after the first break.

Donk is the most overused term in poker, and usually when I see it, it's a case of "the pot calling the kettle black." In the development of a poker player, learning to call others "donk" comes just after reading one's first poker book and just before one's first BBV whine thread. I hate it.

``that`s how you play poker with a big smile all proud , when they got lucky. ``

OR

``I told you, why play well, when you just need to get lucky and might bad beat everybody else ```
