It just occurred to me that this situation is almost perfectly analogous to Alabama football's situation a couple months ago. See what they did? Think they'll be better or worse?

im really surprised that Tubby did this so fast because Michigan was reportedly interested in him as well as many other coaches. not sure if Michigan would of ended up choosing him or not, but it does tell me that the Mich job is not that highly regarded if Tubby 'insta' takes the job at Minny without even talking to Mich.

[/ QUOTE ] How many other D1 programs are there in MN? Compare that to the Michigan job where you have to deal with Izzo and MSU who have ruled that state for several years. Now put yourself in Tubby's head. Seems like a pretty easy decision to me. |

As hard as it is for us Mich fans to say it, we just are not a big time program in basketball. Recent struggles aside, Michigan was one of the premier programs in the Big Ten, if not the country. But now the reality is we don't pay coaches well and our facilities suck. Hence, this is why a guys like Tubby makes an 'insta' decision to go to Minny. |
