When I think old school, I must think of something else... LOL gogo nethack [/ QUOTE ] My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if in another 3-4 years time, this thread will reappear and people will declare WoW old school. |

It's because FF7 marked the turning point to all FF game's male characters to begin looking like 12 year old girls. [/ QUOTE ] i swear to god if square would have just made some badass looking main characters instead of these weird looking fairy dudes i never would have grown out of playing these |

Ultima 4, 7 & 7.5 are the shizzle... Suprised pc gamers have not mentioned Dungeon Master. That game blew my mind back in the day. Also I loved Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic. But these are old school. It's been a while since I have had the chance to truly enjoyed a RPG. |

Darklands, I love this game & still do. It was one of the 1st games I had on my 386DX. I'd rate this 2nd to Oblivion as me fave rpg.
Ultima Underworld II was pretty cool too. |

Has anyone here played legend of Legaia for PS1? I really enjoyed that game. The story was quite engaging.

I've beat a lot of games in this thread, including pretty much all the FFs, and while ff3 (6) is a great game and ff7 is maybe my favorite game of all time (with some admitted bias going into that beacause of when I played it)...
Based on your posts in this thread I reccomend FF Tactics. Great strategy leveling and battling system and an underrated story line. Beating it without fighting any extra leveling battles is a good challenge. |

[/ QUOTE ] Wow, I thought I was the only one who ever played this OLD, OLD game. It was freaking awesome, but so hard. Sweet game. If you're looking at other old-school RPGs, Betrayal at Krondor for the PC rocks, as long as you ignore the cheesey costumes. |

[/ QUOTE ] I really really like that game but the combat is insanely difficult, basicly you have to spend hundreds of hours on random fights just to boost up your characters. I gave up at some point, I just couldn't beat the fights near the end anymore and was too tired of the grinding. |
