Re: EPT Monte Carlo
Well actually I get to enjoy a free night because I'm staying 3 extra days anyway. THis actually really works out well for me because I was planning on taking 3 days to drive to Rome (where I'm flying home from) and paying a premium for dropping off my rental in ROme. Now I think I will drive to FLorence on the extra day, return to Monte Carlo and take the train to Rome for our last 2 nights. So my view of the whole situation is equally biased in the opposite direction. (I'm saving 1 night's hotel, 2 days of a rental and a $500 drop off charge).
And I'm willing to bet that most of the EUropean qualifiers will be able to stay the extra day, and that there are more European qualifiers than North american.
As far as accomodating more players, when I first went on the EPT website, Monte Carlo was to be maxed at 400 entrants, with 2 starting days. If they go to 600 for example, they still have 2 days, but 50% more players returning on day 2 will take longer. I'm sure they looked towards the end of the line and thought going from x players to the final table (In EPT I think it's 10 person final tables) was too big a stretch.
