(hate) i hope that internet poker is banned everywhere so that all the people who are like "any job would suck" have to find a job while having no skills and no experience. (/hate)
that said... i could never be a police officer. i just don't hate young people enough. (edit: wow. upon reading that, maybe i do. 2nd choice: assembly line.) |

I was watching this one episode of The Man Show where they had three guys with the worst jobs in the world.
-Dirty diaper cleaner -Scuba diving into septic tanks -Masturbating caged animals for artifical insemination Yeah, those three. |

Just about any of the jobs you see on "Dirty Jobs". That whole show is like a really bad prop bet.
Embalmer/mortician. Something about this one gives me the screaming heebie-jeebies. It seems worse than coroner. At least coroners are performing some sort of scientific service. |

[ QUOTE ] Assembly line, or any repetitive factory work. I've tried and quit within days. [/ QUOTE ] Strange side story. I worked for a fortune 300 company, and our Quality group wanted to institue a cross training program. There were people in our warehouse who's entire job was as follows: 1. Pick up piece a from converyor belt 1. 2. Pick up piece b from converour belt 2. 3. Connect piece a to piece b and put in a box. 8 hours a day. 5 days a week. The Quality group assumed that this must be the worst job ever, and we should start cross training these people so that they could move up into better jobs and develop careers in the company. The cross training was pretty much universally rejected. No one wanted to be cross trained. I guess there really are people out there that want to walk in, shut off their brain, do menial work for 8 hrs, collect a paycheck, rince, repeat... Ray [/ QUOTE ] I worked on an assembly line at GM full time for 3 years while going to school. It was incredibly mundane, but in my opinion, still better than having to deal with the public. If your a student I think you are better off doing mindless work like this and having a fresh brain for studies rather than a job that you have to think at.Fifty-three seconds out of each minute was accounted for but you would be amazed the reading and studying you could get done with 7 seconds out of each minute. I wouldn't want to have to do it for life, but compared to what most of the world has to do to eat,it was nothing. Allowed me to finish school debt free and owning my own home. Worst part was leaving to take a job in my field and taking a 30,000 a year pay cut. Now low paying and menial would be a different story. |
