1/2 nl at nyc club (9 handed)
effective stacks $475 SB is good. solid TAG. been at the table with us for 6+ hrs. my friend had a suckout on him earlier in session when SB flops a set and friend flops a K high flush draw. he gets there on river. not many other major confrontations. BT is typical 1/2 monkey. calls light and burns chips. my friend (MP) had a rollercoaster of a night. in for 2+ buyins. not playin his A game at all but not sure if monkey filled table recognizes this. he opens to 12 with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BT and SB call. ($38) flop is T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB leads for $10. MP call. BT folds. ($58) turn is Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB checks. MP bets $40, SB calls. ($148) river is A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB checks, MP bets $90. SB shoves for $300. MP.... |

flop is atrociuos. i said same thing.
the hand is interesting though with action cards on all streets. What line would you take on this hand? please say what you would do on each street with bet amounts as well. |

Well it's either a boat or some Tc9c. Would he play J9 this way? Probably not. Looks like a fold to me but don't think I could make it.

There is no line on the flop. You have a read of villain as a 'good/tight/solid' player. These are not the type that frequently donk weakly on a paired board into a preflop raiser. It looks like he's fishing for action, and got it. Flop's a fold. Given the read, river is also a fold - but I don't think I could make it.

ok. i agree 100%. this is what i said. but is their any justification to raising the flop?
making the monkey play he made, what would you do with that turn card and with the action that has taken place? edit: is folding to a 25% lead bet bad for meta here? can we justify calling/raising if not for anything else, atleast that? |
