Default Tilt and multi tabling?

I know there are a million tilt threads, and I've tried to read them all; here is a new take on it.

I've had 5 consecutive winning years encompassing almost 1 million hands. I've been dealing with some tilt issues lately. While analyzing what is happening, I think I've found a link between my tilt and playing 4,5,6 or 7 tables. I built a very healthy bankroll playing primarily 2 or 3 tables at a time. I know my game does suffer a bit when i play more tables than that, but I've believed the extra hands I was able to play made up for it. Now, i think it is contributing to my tilt issues.

Here are my thoughts. Playing 5 or 6 tables is much more demanding mentally, so it isn't as much fun to play. Playing that many hands increases the number of "beats" which we all know can contribute to tilt. When the tilt does come, I'm now spraying chips across 6 tables instead of 2 or 3.

Right now, the tilt spasms are the biggest leak in my game, and it is making it a lot less fun to play. Unfortunately, I'm playing a lot more for the money now than I used to; the nearly mortal blow to bonus whoring hurt; I'm in the US.(I'm not a pro, but I am a serious semi-pro; my regular job pays the bills, and poker and bonus whoring pays for the extras), so taking an extended break isn't really an option now.
I'm staring to think I'd be better off doubling limits and cutting back to 2 or 3 tables.

What do others thinbk about the effect of multi tabling on tilt? Yes, I am addressing some of the other tilt issues; I'm teaching my shrink about playing poker, and she is helping me with the self control issues inherent in tilt.

Best Wishes,

Fitz
