Daryn I am a total sissy boy when it comes to crying at the movies. I almost cried during Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Seriously.

I teared up a surprising number of times when I watched Little Miss Sunshine last night.
I'm not sure it was all the movie, though; I'd had the sort of day where I was going to be effected by any movie I watched. I probably would have teared-up during "Beauty & The Beast 3: A Very Special Easter". |

plot details, but no real spoilers:
Two movies that haven't been mentioned, that rate tears from me: It's a Wonderful Life C'mon, this is the kind of thing that really gets me, the stories of goodness that are overwhelming. I love this movie, watch it once or twice a year, and tear up multiple times, every time. The Best Years of our lives This movie has the saddest scene in the history of film, it's about three WWII veterans coming home, and thier struggles dealing with being back. Homer Parrish, the veteran who has lost his hands, is describing to his future wife, why he is now so pathetic without hands that she should consider not marrying him. btw, the actor who played Homer Parrish was not a professional actor, but a dude who actually lost both hands in WWII, and is the only actor in history to win two oscars for one role. (best supporting actor, and a special award for being such an inspiration to other disabled vets. As for movies others have mentioned: Green Mile got me. We Were Soldiers Wives/Telegrams was amazing, way better than the rest of the movie, which was OK. Oh [censored], I forgot about the scene in Casablanca when Victor Laszlo leads the french refugees in a round of "la marsiellaise" to drown out the nazis chorus. If I can survive the beginning of this scene, when Yvonne chimes in despite having run with nazis, I'm done for. |

I am a total sucker for the "don't amount to a hill of beans" speech at the end. Other weepy favourites: The Elephant Man Schindler's List It's A Wonderful Life Whale Rider Life is Beautiful Truly Madly Deeply The Abyss (two people one respirator scene) |

I assume you mean either the scene where Anthony Hopkins' character first sees David Merrick and they just show a closeup of Hopkins' face, and a tear comes down and you actually feel sorrow for the Elephant Man without even seeing him, or else the end of the movie where David Merrick decides to lie down and die, and the painting he did of himself sleeping is on the wall, and freaking Barber's Adagio For Strings is playing and David Merrick's mother comes to him in a dream. Oh my God, David Lynch can sure make a movie. |

I get caught out also by the scene where the doctor's wife first meets Merrick, and he shows her the picture of his mother. [ QUOTE ] Oh my God, David Lynch can sure make a movie. [/ QUOTE ] QFT. Edit: no, f*** being glib, I should say "I absolutely agree." And yeah, good game last night. Must be some dust in the air or something. |

It's the fact that David Merrick is talking about how beautiful his mother was, and then--here it comes: "I must have been a great disappointment to her." I must have an allergy or something. My eyes are just so itchy and runny. |

well, this isn't technically a movie, but I have it on DVD so I'm going to say the highlights of the 2004 Masters.
as Phil's walking off the 18th, his young daughter runs up to him and he picks her up and says, "Daddy won! Can you believe it??" that part really gets me. |

Some notables for me.
Forrest Gump: The part where he is talking to her at her grave. Big Fish: The scene where they are in the bathtub together and the ending. My life: When Keaton's dad shaves him. Holy [censored]. About Schmidt: The end with Jack and the letter. Glory: Various parts. Gladiator: The end when his friend buries the little statues and sdays he will meet again. Barbarian Invasions: Ending up at the cabin. Dad: Various parts. To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday : Dont know if anyone has heard of this movie. The plot sounds kind of goofy, but I found it terribly sad. Philadelphia: Ending in the hospital. Nothing I've ever seen though made me cry more than the ending of the series finale of Six Feet Under. Wow. |
