I pay for everything myself. Scholarships and loans for later in life. My goal is to use poker earnings to start paying off loans. So basically thats not an issue, only issue is not wanting to hurt a relationship like this...haha now that sounds entirely emo, wtf is wrong with me...

um, hurting the relationship? meaning she won't pay for your stuff anymore or she is trying to convince you that "loving you" means "you loving to do what she says." if its your path, make it happen. if it's not, be honest about it. and not because mommy says so. don't take it personally, and you'll find your answer.
