I put it out there as an example of what we could do. Let's see if the others like the idea. One thing great about a custom built league is that we can jsut kick a dead team out at will and replace them.

Joe,

I like your idea. Would you be willing to run it?

edit: Throwing in some type of minor league system would be kinda cool too, if possible.

edit #2: clarification on one thing. If I have a number 1 draft pick and i use him as a keeper into the next season he is a keeper for one year and to keep him the next year I have to use a 1 year contract keeper on him again? But for a late round draft pick I can keep them for 5 years without using additional keepers correct?

I was in the non-keeper league last year and finished 3rd. I would like to play in that league again or after viewing their roster, wouldnt mind taking over a dead team in the keeper league. If there is a new keeper league starting, throw my name into the mix as well.

Hey Joe,

I like that idea, but will this be a fresh start or would some teams that played last year already have a head start and the new joiners will have to inherit dead teams?

Just so you guys don't think I'm a dick - the draft last year wound up being in one of the times that I specified I couldn't make. Since I didn't draft my own team, I lost interest in it really quick especially compared to the teams that I had. Sorry about that though, I know how [censored] annoying it is when people don't update their lineups.

Yes, if we had enough interest.

This is currently being discussed in my new league. However, for this first league if everyone likes this set up we'll start here.

A #1 draft pick will be on your team for the current season, THEN, if you wish you can sign him to a 1-yr contract he will be on your team for 1 year. Total duration on your team: 2yrs. After his contract expires he will return to the player pool.

Not sure if I understand this question. Once you have signed a player to a contract, he is on your team for the duration for the contract. You will still be able to keep 2 pitchers and 2 hitters every season as long as they are within the draft-round guide lines (before or after 5th, etc).

Such as here are some of the current rosters going into this season in my league that is 5yrs running. You can guess what my team name is :

ok that helped. Basically I was trying to figure out if you could continuously resign players to 1 year contracts, but it appears not.

Agreed.

1. Is it fair to assume we are moving forward with a new league?

2. Using most if not all of Joe Tall's suggestions?

3. Who is in so far?

Helping,

rooni
