[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Sure. Just like all "news viewers" are suddenly demanding wall-to-wall coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's refrigerator, (rather than news on the Iraq War and Bush's impending invasion of Iran). Yes, clearly this is all just the "free market" at work. Now, go back to sleep. [/ QUOTE ] During the 2-3 days immediately after her death this was all anybody in my office was talking about around their cubes. People like tabloid gossip BS, always have, not everything is a huge conspiracy. It's cute you think WE'RE in the dreamworld and your paranoid fantasies are reality. Might wanna look out your window, that car parked on the street looks REALLY suspicious... [/ QUOTE ] I would suggest that it's a little bit of both. When the people find out what really happened in government, it will be the greatest story ever told. People will be absolutely glued to it. The "top story" is always relative. Remember Condit was the top story for months, then 9/11 occurred and we never heard the story again. As far as the vast majority of people are concerned, there's not a problem right now so we're back to another Condit-type story. The free market is demanding it because the other stories have not been "priced in" to the market yet. The border issue is being heavily "pushed" by large groups of people into the alternative media and it is just the tip of a very large iceberg. |

The Dixie Chicks didn't say a lot of things that were critical of Bush as one writer said. They have mostly re-acted to the boycott and bad things said about them. Natalie Maines is one of great friends daughters and will always be that first to me. Why is one of the greatest singers expected to be really smart about politics???

If she didn't want to get herself into the discussion, all she had to do was keep her mouth shut. If you use the far reaching microphone you get as part of celebrity for political ends, you must expect to be placed under the microscope. You can't have your cake and eat it too. |

Just like Bill Maher made the comment and was villified for it. 1 year later many are saying it.
Bottom line Great album that Country radio will not play. They paid big in Album sales. But like the one chick said if they never spoke out the album would never have happened. |

The issue isn't death threats, which of course is wrong and for which the perpatrators should be tracked down and prosecuted. You all are whining because they were criticized ... which I am perfectly entitled to do and will continue to do. Or do you agree that it was the military industrial complex behind it? Talk about lol. Stop laughing long enough to think. NCAces |
