No reads here. I wasn't paying much attention and it was my second orbit. I haven't done anything at the table.
Absolute Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $23.65 CO: $21.65 Button: $48.25 Hero: $49.75 BB: $46.50 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG calls, CO folds, Button raises to $2, Hero raises to $7, BB folds, UTG calls, Button calls. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($21.5, 3 players) Hero... I just hate throwing $15 at this into two players that called the $7...seems like spew to me, OOP. c/f? |

Wow.. this is tough. I could just c/f an A high flop. I'd probably check and if UTG bets and BTN folds I'd felt this as I cant see him having a random hand with a K here...looks like he has a pp to me. If the button bet I'd be inclined to fold, maybe call a flop bet and c/f the turn bc if he bets twice he likely has a K. Honestly I dont know the right action here OOP, I'm interested in others' thoughts.

Start by checking.

I would bet/fold this. Bet around 13-16.

at this stake, i usually bet/fold this. i think checking is almost always giving this pot up.

im very uncomfortable here too. i do make lots of c-bets here if i know villians are playing soooted connectors to reraises (whih they do at 10nl). the only hands here are AK, KK, AA and smaller pairs to yours. 55 and 88 hit hard. what other K is calling a reraise if they are compitent. c-bet here?

Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($21.5, 3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $4, Button calls, Hero calls. No idea what the heck was going on here, and a decent raise was just too much for this spot IMO, even if $4 looks weak. I obv. showed strength before so he has to know the K is scary (I checked) and he's betting small to keep people in the pot. Turn: 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($33.5, 3 players) Hero checks, UTG bets $10, Button folds, Hero folds. Uncalled bets: $10 returned to UTG. Same thing here, he just doesnt seem to want us to fold. Although, he didn't leave himself much $$ so I could have pushed with a good price. However, I also thought that he probably had a monster, otherwise he would have simply pushed. Seems odd that he bets $10 and leaves not much behind, especially with a $33 pot... |

FLOP- very standard check. by betting we are turning our hand into a bluff (see 72o) because we are almost never getting action from a worse hand and almost always geting action from a better one. i always call this $4 bet b/c it could be complete trash and you are getting great odds here b/w your set value and showdown value.
turn: so very read dependent. w/o them, even though hes short and obv not a good player, i lean towards folding b/c the board is very dry which eliminates draws from his range and destroy our equity. he very rarely has air here so i like the way you played it. |
