In the spirit of the thread: No need to stop at 4 way stops if no one is in it or stopped at it. You can just cruise on through.

[/ QUOTE ] Another note: if you are in a shopping mall parking lot or on other private property, you can disregard stop signs entirely. Since it's not a public roadway, you cannot legally be ticketed (although you can still be held at fault if you cause an accident.) |

Passing on shoulders is definetly the way to go. I use to drive 2 hours down 75 2 times a week and semis passing 4 semis takes forever at 60 mph. So passing on the shoulder = a lot of time gained. Although the cops can be bad in Ohio on 75 but wasnt pulled over once in the 2 years Ive been driving there. All the advice is good but pretty basic. Also onramps are easier than exit ramps unless its one of those really long exit lanes. Definetly check the shoulders for debris, cars, signs before you pass on the shoulder though.
