[ QUOTE ]
I think Americans believe the more they work the further ahead they get and Europeans believe the less they work the more free time they have. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Another way of putting it might be that Europeans like to try and improve until they truly excel at something, whereas Americans just want to satiate their greed and need for immediate gratification! [/ QUOTE ] this is awesome. an absolutely clear display of liberal vs conservative thinking. bill oreilly would love this as much as i do. |

How many American liberals do you think would agree with the second statement? |

How many American liberals do you think would agree with the second statement? [/ QUOTE ] this means 1. youre not really as liberal as you think 2. you havent picked up on the underlying meaning of the first statement 3. you are just in the extreme minority any or a combition of those things. and id guess 90% of american liberals would agree with the second statement.this is funny stuff |

I'm really liberal and I agree more with the first one.
I'm also kind of annoyed by conseratives who make blanket statements about how ALL liberals think regarding one thing or another. |

There's a big difference between socially liberal and "big government"/socialism liberal.
There are lots of people who are socially liberal but not economically here in the US. |

You're so off on this. Are you a teenager? Because that's the only thing that might explain this sort of black and white thinking. There's nothing "conservative" about saying that American culture is geared more toward working as hard as possible as long as possible (that's not a good thing), while European culture has more to do with enjoying the time that they're not working (a good thing). You're misinterpreting the statement. By the way - liberal doesn't mean "hate everything about the United States." |
