I think baseball has more only because there is more people betting on it than hockey. Most arb opportunities occur within an hour of the game starting. As I wrote earlier, a lot of becoming a successful scalper is to know when it is best to look for certain things.

I rarely looked at NHL lines this year. I think I only had under 10 arbs compared to 500+ I had in the NBA.

I guess there are last minute bets placed and the lines change differently near the start of the game thus giving the opportunity to scalp?

Yea, I am not the best person to ask for this, but I am sure the majority of bets placed on games are when the game is about to start.

Also when injuries are announced and a key player is declared out like 2 hrs before the game, the lines go berzerk.

Youtalkfunny or beetman could probably provide more factual information on this.

I'd say you need $50k minimum to do it to the point where you can make decent money. You constantly have to cashout of certain places, reload others. Having a small roll makes this difficult and will get you highly frustrated.

My understanding is that the sites will close your account or give you lines with more juice if they suspect you are a scalper. How do you avoid this? Have you ever had your account closed?

Have you ever been ripped offf by a site or been screwed when placing a middle?

Is making a living on scalping still possible even without Pinny?

Taking the question at face value: No, I don't think its possible. Surely you could turn a profit with other sites, but "making a living" to me is much more than 50k considering you aren't going to get a promotion, you have no benefits, etc etc.

I don't think any former U.S. scalper is going to continue scalping without Pinnacle. Those still into the scene will one way or another find a way back on, and the rest will just move on to something else.

Have you ever considered spending time actually betting on sports? I mean anything non-arbing/middling. Perhaps for a living?
