A lot fewer than you would think. Seriously. At least in Australia. [/ QUOTE ] |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Their promotions also still has a US-twist to them long after the US player base is gone. This just popped up when I logged in: "Celebrate Super Bowl XLI with PartyBets.com Super Bowl XLI is February 4th. Bears? Colts? Who knows? But take a shot and you might get your bet back…and much more...." [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure a few people outside the US know and watch the Super Bowl every year. [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure you haven't spent much time outside the US [/ QUOTE ] Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be broadcast in over TWO HUNDRED countries if a few people didn't watch it at all. I must be out of my gourd. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'd be surprised if there were actually over two hundred countries on Earth, given that there are only 192 members of the United Nations The Super Bowl was broadcast in Australia on the TV network "SBS." While ratings are not yet available for it, I don't think it is likely that the game scored in the top 100 most watched TV programs for the week in Australia. The audience for the Super Bowl in Australia could be measured by the thousands, as compared to the millions who watch the AFL grand final. |

[/ QUOTE ] Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure the biggest topic in chat on SuperBowl weekend was the dominance of Germany over Italy and France during the World HANDBALL Championships. If you want to be out of your gourd, talk about football, those stupid Europeans will think you are talking about something you call soccer. For the majority of Europeans, a football (soccer, not "american football") or this last weekend, handball, promotion would have had more interest than the Superbowl. |

[/ QUOTE ] As you seem adept at in politics, you ignore the actual point I was making. I know that American football isn't the world's most popular sport. I also don't much care, because that isn't what we're talking about. I do know that people around the world DO watch the Super Bowl, and that's all I was saying. Its not like the game is some big secret. EDIT: While I understand something like Wiki isn't always reliable, its not like I was making this up. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, I ignored your point since it had nothing to do with the subject. You did missed the entire point. The Subject was still using the SuperBowl, when the majority of your European customers don't care about the SuperBowl. Sure Americans all watch the SuperBowl, but they can't get on Party. There would be much more effective promotions that could be run, instead of one focused on a primarily American Sport. This is the point. The Daytona 500 will probably be broadcast in Iraq for the troops. Now if I am running a promotion and want to attract a bunch of native Iraqi people, should I use the Daytona 500 in a promotion? Think I could probably come up with something better that would appeal to a bigger chunk of Iraq? Engage your brain, please. Using the Superbowl to promote to an Euro Market is stupid. |

They are promoting to a canadian market as well and many canadians bet on the Super Bowl. This promotion is for betting not for watching.
