We are certainly a big city.

As for the rest of it, just by virtue of being larger there is more of everything. That includes more wealth, so the peaks of materialism are higher than everywhere else in Canada. Toronto is a severely underrated city because it is not very accessible to visitors. Living here is way better than visiting here.

Oh, and also the wealthier you are the better Toronto is. I've come to appreciate it more since I started earning a decent wage.
