Default Borgata 40 game, AK suited

Game is playing fairly tight, most of the players are TAGs with the exception of one player who looks like one of those rich dudes that likes to gamble. I have been playing fairly tight and the table probably views me as TAG.

Rich dude opens from EP, LP 3 bets, I cap A/K of diamonds from the SB.

Flop is K/3/5, 2 hearts. I bet, rich dude raises, LP folds, I call?

Turn is blank. I ck call (?)

River is blank. I ck call (?)

Does this suck?

I don't think this sucks at all. In fact, against many players who are like the "rich dude" this is the best way to play the hand. When you let him keep the lead he'll keep firing with KQ or JJ or QQ. Doesn't sound like he's the sort ofplayer where you can be certain enough that you're behind that you fold. My best guess is that you are chopping.

He also sounds like the type that would call a turn raise with these hands as well.

I would checkraise the turn here for value and call down a raise.

Well, they didn't consider you "tight-aggressive" after that hand. Probably no more than "tight/aggressive preflop/weak post-flop." At the very least, a bet into Villian on the Turn. For me, a re-raise on the Flop; call his raise if it comes. Then, bet into him on the Turn, call his raise if it comes and ck/call the River. If a raise doesn't come on the Turn, bet out on the River.

Agree. Other than the hearts, you couldn't ask for a better flop after capping pf with AK.

Not sure why you're slowing down. If it's to keep him leading when behind, I think it's a bad idea. I'd do that with position so you won't miss bets and can get in a raise. OOP, keep the gas on or go for a c/r.
