Betting accomplishes a few things that checking doesnt: -Gets money in when you're ahead -Tells you when you're beat (You get raised) -Gets value from hands that might otherwise check behind [/ QUOTE ] Checking also gets value from bluffs that would have folded to a bet, and prevents us from getting bluff-raised off the best hand. There are definitely arguments for either line here. With a stronger hand than one pair, betting is probably best, but with just an overpair against a LAG, I like a check. |
