when I see card protectors I immediately see a player who at least thinks they know what they are doing; which to me is a great tip off.
It is like wearing a t-shirt that says, "i play B&M poker regularly", or "I play X hours of online poker a week". Not really sure why you would want to advertise or celebrate that. Just my opinion tho'. |

Maybe I'll change my mind when my pair of aces gets accidentally mucked, but so far I've never lost a hand to a dealer's mistake. |

I had no idea what I was doing at the table, but I had a card cover. I used to have a fake 1 million dollar chip I got at the Gambler's General store in Vegas, but it wore out and I haven't found anything to replace it yet. |

Just my opinion tho'. [/ QUOTE ] This seems a little off my friend. First off, often people that play mostly online aren't very comfortable in live poker. There was a part in that HSP show where Aba was counting out cheques like a 1-2NL player might.(No offense Aba, I'm just saying) Also, just because you play live poker a lot, that doesn't mean anything. In fact, that usually means you suck. In my experience, having a "special" card protector, I'm more inclined to think you suck. What winning player would spend money on poker gear? Actually, scratch everything I said. Having a special card protector is EXACTLY like walking in to a card room wearing a poker shirt. ![]() serious business right there. Anyways, as for what I use. I use a black chip. It's baller, it's actually a chip so it's not like it costs me anything, and the dealers usually think they're going to get it if I win the hand so they know to set the deck up so everyone misses their draws. Been working with pretty good results. |
