I plan on cashing some of my online bankroll out early next week given the current environment. I realize I have too much of my roll online. What risk do you associate with money on the following sites: Absolute/UB/FT/Stars/WSEX. I really don't worry about the sites not paying but somehow having US banks block the funds ...ie Neteller. I think the risk of this happening to paper checks etc..is small for the short term future. I know all are working on other deposit and cash out methods and I have signed up for Epass.
I assume my easiest method will be to have these sites send me paper checks and pay the extra cost for quick delivery. A month ago I wouldn't have associated any risk with my online bankroll in these sites but now I think a small percentage of risk is probably accurate..(5%) I know it's anyone's guess but do you foresee any problems in the short term future with cashing out of these sites? |

I'd go with checks. Chexx, Inc. has already said that they will no longer be available for check printing as of today, however, PS have already clamied that getting another company is a simple process and I assume it will be the same for the rest of the big sites out there. I signed up for Epass as well, but am still waiting for the two micro deposits to hit my bank account. Even when they do, I am still concerned and hesistant in whether or not I should even mess with them. I think I'm going to wait for everything to play itself out for a while.

You should up your risk, IMO. I would say that keeping significant amounts of money on any site at this point in time is a fool's errand.
I trust the sites I use with my money, btw, it's the people between them and me that are the problem. |

I agree...I do not play professionally, but I have a significant amount of money in bodog and ps and plan on waiting things out for a bit and trying not to panic. I figure my money is safer on the sites than anywhere else at this point

Yeah, I think there's a pretty reasonably high risk. My money's on Bodog so that's where I'm most concerned with, but I'd give about a 5-10% risk of something bad happening there. I've cashed out a ton from there, but I've been running well and I still have about 1/3 of my overall BR on there for the time being. I'm planning on just leaving it as the utility I'll have if I can continue to play there is probably worth more than the $1500 or so in equity associated with the risk.

Well both Ultimate bet and Absolute poker say they can not pay affiliates by check anymore. I would say the risk are incresing everyday that you may not be able to get money out of Poker rooms in the future. If epassport is shut down, you will have very few alternatives to cash out to the usa.

Heh funny before reading IG today I didn't really have a care in the world, after reading some of the threads in here i'm considering cashing out 1/2 to 3/4 of my roll now that it is in the low 5 figures.

The management would be foolish and deserve to be fired if they allowed no withdraw option. The effect and cause is irrelevant and Joe Shmoe could not give a care. If withdraws take longer than two weeks, mass hysteria will commence. |
