Tootsie Roll:
Spiced Rum and Root Beer. Tastes exactly like a tootsie roll. Found this one when I ran out of coke one night. I was pleasantly surprised to get that taste. |

[/ QUOTE ] Khaos - Many of the best food ideas tend to come about accidentally or via initially unwanted substitution. My rums are mostly for guests who do not enjoy vodka, but I do enjoy Tootsie Rolls. I'm going to try this sometime soon, thanks for the idea. |

Mint Julep : fresh mint, muddled with sugar, bourbon, crushed ice
Sidecar : 1 brandy : 1 countreau : 1 lemon juice Old Fashioned : rye or whisky, bitters, sugar, orange (I know, sort of more than 2) The problem with these 3 drinks is that they're great when done well, but they taste like ass at a typical bar which is staffed by morons. |

Oh yeah, again :
Caipirinha : Cachaca, simple syrup (sugar water), lime Delicious, but hard to find places with cachaca, people substitute rum and it's no good. Used to have tons of these at "Coffee Shop" NY. |

2 drinks that I like that definitely aren't for everyone, but if you're looking for something different, might be up your alley :
Jack Daniels (or your fav whiskey) and Red Bull - It sounds like a very odd combo, and it is, however I love it. I like whiskey and I'm a Red Bull fan. This drink will get your buzz in from the whiskey but keep you awake and wanting to be the life of the party. Caipirinha - It's a Brazilian drink that consists of Cachaça (alcohol made of sugar cane) and is created by taking fresh limes, throwing them in a glass, crushing them up a little for the juice (you can cheat by just using lime juice but takes away from the fun of the drink) and then adding sugar and ice. It's a little strong at first, but you warm up to it quickly. It's the official cocktail of Brazil. ![]() EDITED TO ADD : [ QUOTE ] Caipirinha : Cachaca, simple syrup (sugar water), lime [/ QUOTE ] Damn you, I see you beat me to it! BTW, while Cachaça can be hard to find (any somewhat big specialty liquor store should carry it), it's quite cheap. |

can someone recommend a good drink that includes Baileys? [/ QUOTE ] Blonde russian: vodka, kaluha, baileys with whatever ratio you prefer for white russians or perhaps a bit more baileys than cream Nutcracker: equal parts vodka, kaluha, baileys, amaretto and while not exactly a mixed drink, car bombs were the way i got introduced to the deliciousness of irish cream: drop a shot of baileys into a mug of guiness and chug (if you don't drink quickly, the cream will go awry) put a bit of jameson whiskey on top of the baileys shot if you want. |
