[ QUOTE ]
Is it just a rich people are rich everywhere thing, or does it seem like there's always loads of SAmers & Euros traveling everywher for sports events & about zero Americans? BTW, Gonzo has about 100x more sac than Marcelo Rios ever thought about having. Chillin' Chilean. Jesus, Fed's a pimp. [/ QUOTE ] Certainly not a rich thing, just a different culture I think. Americans are notoriously sucky at supporting their teams and players, quite possibly because there are so many very good Americans to choose from in most sports. Most other countries don't have that luxury, perhaps it focusses the fan effort better? Lori |

Lori, I think it's also 'easier' culturally for non-Americans to get away, too. I remember when Ireland made the semi's of the World Cup in '94, all the articles on the fans in L.A. said, "Me boss & me wife said ye huf tee go, lad".
That said, if I had even a 50K/yr trust fund, I'd be at evry [censored] thing. BTW, figured Fed was the first man to win 3 of the slams 3 times before the match was over. LOL, Steffi won all four at least four times. |

That ties in with something I heard today (I have no idea if it's true, pardon my ignorance) that typically an American would only have 10 days paid holiday from work per year. If that is true that would explain a great deal.
I just looked up the rights in England for comparison: [ QUOTE ] There is a minimum right to paid holiday, your employer may offer more than this. The main things you should know about holiday rights are: you get a minimum of four weeks you start building up holiday as soon as you start work your employer can control when you take your holiday you get paid your normal pay for your holiday when you finish a job, you get paid for any holiday you’ve not taken [/ QUOTE ] Holiday entitlement.
